What are the buildings made of?
Legacy Steel Buildings are made of 100% US commercial grade steel.
Will my building meet my local codes, snow, and wind loads?
Every Legacy Steel Building is engineered to comply with regional building codes, wind load (hurricane), snow load, and seismic (earthquake) requirements. We will design your building to meet the requirements of your local building codes, and we will provide permit drawings stamed and certified by one of our registered engineers. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the customer to verify all building codes with their local building or zoning department.
Where does Legacy Steel Buildings deliver to?
Legacy Steel Buildings ships buildings to all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Legacy Steel also ships buildings to every country throughout the world. Please contact us for area-specific information.
How secure is the framing on a Legacy Steel building?
Steel framed buildings are fastened together with bolts and screws. The connections remain secure because there is so little movement in the frame. Nailed together connections in traditional construction become loose due to shrinkage and warping of the wooden frame. Steel does not warp, shrink, or change with time so the connections remain secure. Since steel framing cannot burn like wood framing can, you may also benefit from lower costs for insurance.
How much does it cost to have the building delivered to me?
Freight cost will vary with the weight of the steel building and the destination location. To save our customers money on shipping expenses we use a packing strategy called share-loading to ship as many steel buildings as possible in one full semi truck load.
Are Legacy Steel buildings painted?
Yes. The walls and trim are painted with a long-lasting factory-applied paint manufactured by AkzoNobel, the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty, high-performance protective coatings for steel. Legacy’s durable paint coatings come in 10 environmentally friendly colors, and they have a 40-year warranty against chipping, cracking, peeling, and blistering, and a 30-year warranty against chalking. These special high-tech paint coatings are classified as “cool paints” because they reflect up to 70% of the sun’s rays, resulting in a cooler building and decreased energy costs.
Do I choose the colors of paint for my building?
Yes. You can choose from 10 panel colors and 4 trim colors, back by a 40-year warranty.
How long does delivery take?
Because we design every steel building individually for each customer, delivery time varies from project to project. Your building consultant can give you a better idea of your delivery time after understanding your requirements. On that note, we do pride ourselves in having the fastest shipping in the industry today.
